The OKOPF classifier contains five-digit codes. The first code value indicates the section, the next two indicate the type of legal form, and the last two indicate the type of legal form. For example, for joint stock companies the OKOPF code will be 1 22 00, for individual entrepreneurs - 5 01 02, for a bar association - 2 80 07, and for political parties - 2 02 01.

Since OKOPF is the All-Russian Classifier of Organizational and Legal Forms, then, accordingly, the objects of the OKOPF classification are the organizational and legal forms of business entities, for example, LLC, individual entrepreneur, PJSC.

The second category indicates the type of legal form. It is different for each section. For sections 3 and 4, the type of OPF is 00. For the fifth, two types were identified - 01 and 02. The remaining sections include many types of OPF.
