Welcome to the 2021 calendar page! Only on our website is the most complete version of the calendar for 2021 presented, the dates and names of holidays are published, and all weekends are highlighted, of which there will be many this year! Last year's version of the calendar received a lot of suggestions and reviews, we tried to take most of them into account and made two versions: one for home use, the other for work. Accordingly, in the first part maximum attention is paid to holidays, their names and dates, while the second part of the calendar is a version for the “working” population, with the publication of all weekends, shortened working weeks and hours for work and rest (the so-called “Production Calendar”).

Legally
Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation provides a list of state non-working days.
By checking the accepted dates with the calendar, the Government decides whether any of them need to be postponed, as required by law, if they fall on weekends, and also decides to shorten the working day before holidays. Government Decree No. 756 “On the transfer of days off” to 2021 was approved on August 4, 2021. Working time standards are calculated in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation No. 588n dated August 13, 2009.
Features of a 5-day and 6-day work week
In accordance with the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, the employer has the right to establish either a five-day working week with two days off, or a six-day work week with one day off. There is also a free schedule when weekends and working days are assigned based on the characteristics of the enterprise and the immediate responsibilities of the employee. For example, three days of work - two days off. With such a schedule, the employee has days off in accordance with the internal routine of the enterprise, and not with the general production calendar. And all these variations fit well within the framework of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. Next, we’ll talk about the two most popular types of work schedules: a 5-day workweek and a 6-day workweek.
With a 5-day work week
A five-day work week is characterized by the following schedule: working days are all weekdays from Monday to Friday, and weekends are Saturday and Sunday. In our country, this is the most common type of work schedule.
With a 6-day work week
Here Saturday will also be a working day. However, all public holidays are also valid for this type of work schedule. But if the holiday falls on Saturday and is moved to Monday (as, for example, November 4, 2021), then an employee who is on a six-day work week will receive a day off on Saturday, but on Monday, in accordance with the production calendar for a six-day work week, he will I'll have to go to work already.
Part-time work
By agreement between the employee and the employer, a part-time or part-time work week may be established both upon hiring and subsequently.
The employer is obliged to establish part-time work at the request of:
- Pregnant woman.
- One of the parents with a child under the age of 14 (a disabled child under the age of 18).
- A person caring for a sick family member.
When working part-time, the employee is paid in proportion to the time he worked or depending on the amount of work he performed.
Part-time work does not entail for employees any restrictions on the duration of annual basic paid leave, calculation of length of service and other labor rights.
Overtime work
Overtime work is work performed by an employee on the initiative of the employer in excess of the working hours established for the employee: daily work, and in the case of cumulative accounting of working hours - in excess of the normal number of working hours for the accounting period.
An employer's involvement of an employee in overtime work is permitted with his written consent in the following cases:
- If it is necessary to complete work that has begun, which, due to an unforeseen delay due to technical production conditions, could not be completed within the working hours established for the employee, if failure to complete this work may result in damage or destruction of the employer’s property (including property of third parties located at employer, if the employer is responsible for the safety of this property), state or municipal property, or create a threat to the life and health of people.
- When carrying out temporary work on the repair and restoration of mechanisms or structures in cases where their malfunction may cause the cessation of work for a significant number of workers.
- To continue work if the replacement worker fails to show up, if the work does not allow a break. In these cases, the employer is obliged to immediately take measures to replace the shift worker with another employee.
An employer’s involvement of an employee in overtime work without his consent is permitted in the following cases:
- When carrying out work necessary to prevent a catastrophe, industrial accident or eliminate the consequences of a catastrophe, industrial accident or natural disaster.
- When carrying out socially necessary work to eliminate unforeseen circumstances that disrupt the normal functioning of centralized hot water supply, cold water supply or sewerage systems, gas supply systems, heat supply, lighting, transport, communications.
- When carrying out work the need for which is due to the introduction of a state of emergency or martial law, as well as urgent work in emergency circumstances, that is, in the event of a disaster or threat of disaster (fires, floods, famine, earthquakes, epidemics or epizootics) and in other cases posing danger threat to the life or normal living conditions of the entire population or part of it.
In other cases, involvement in overtime work is permitted with the written consent of the employee and taking into account the opinion of the elected body of the primary trade union organization.
The following are not allowed to work overtime:
- Pregnant women
- Workers under 18 years of age
- Other categories of workers in accordance with the Labor Code and federal laws.
With the written consent of the employee, the following categories of employees can be involved in overtime work:
- Disabled people.
- Women with children under 3 years of age
The duration of overtime work should not exceed 4 hours for each employee for 2 consecutive days and 120 hours per year.
The employer is required to ensure that each employee's overtime hours are accurately recorded.
All Russian holidays of 2021 in a single table
Russia occupies one of the leading places in the world in terms of the number of holidays per year. I would like to immediately note that not every holiday has the status of a day off. To become one, you need a corresponding Decree signed by the President of the Russian Federation. We have combined all the 2021 holidays into one single table, and by looking at it, you can immediately be convinced that there will always be a reason!
Summarized working time recording
When, due to the working conditions of an individual entrepreneur, in an organization or when performing certain types of work, daily or weekly working hours cannot be observed, it is permissible to introduce summarized recording of working hours so that the working hours for the accounting period (month, quarter and other periods ) did not exceed the normal number of working hours. The accounting period cannot exceed 1 year, and for recording the working time of workers engaged in work with harmful or dangerous working conditions - 3 months.
If, for reasons of a seasonal or technological nature, for certain categories of workers employed in work with harmful or dangerous working conditions, the established working hours cannot be observed during an accounting period of three months, the industry agreement and collective agreement may provide for an increase accounting period for recording the working hours of such employees, but not more than 1 year.
The normal number of working hours for the accounting period is determined based on the weekly working hours established for this category of workers. For part-time or part-time workers, the normal number of hours worked during the reference period is reduced accordingly.
The procedure for introducing summarized recording of working time is established by the internal labor regulations.
